Salurinn Concert Hall Opens Applications for New Púlsinn Music Series in Kópavogur
Salurinn Concert Hall, situated on Culture Hill in Kópavogur, has announced the launch of a brand-new concert series named Púlsinn, created in partnership with the youth center Molinn. The initiative is designed to provide emerging musical talent with a professional platform while equipping them with practical industry knowledge.
Supporting Emerging Musicians at Salurinn Concert Hall
The upcoming series offers young and developing artists the chance to perform on stage in one of the country's prominent concert venues. Aimed at acts that have a foundational performance background rather than decades of touring history, the program imposes no strict age limits and welcomes performers across all musical genres.
Selected acts will perform sets lasting between 25 and 40 minutes on Wednesday evenings, scheduled for March 26, April 9, and May 21. Each participating act receives financial compensation along with a share of the evening's ticket sales revenue.
Professional Development and Practical Workshops
Beyond the live performances, the program features an educational component intended to support long-term career growth. Selected participants take part in a specialized workshop led by musician Hildur Kristín Stefánsdóttir and music consultant Anna Jóna Dungal. The session focuses on essential music industry practices, marketing strategies, and release management.
Salurinn provides comprehensive technical and production support for the events, including the venue, lighting and sound systems, dedicated technicians, drum kits, microphones, and box office management. Artists also benefit from a rehearsal session with a sound engineer the day before their concert, followed by a soundcheck on the day of the performance.
