Söngleikjastælar Returns to Salurinn Concert Hall in Kópavogur
Following a successful initial run, the celebrated concert series Söngleikjastælar is making its way back to Salurinn Concert Hall. Created by performers Bjarni Snæbjörnsson and Sigga Eyrún, the production serves as a tribute to musical theatre, showcasing a blend of classic and contemporary stage numbers alongside a live band.
What to Expect From the Winter Concert Series
Rather than a single performance, the upcoming programme spans three distinct events distributed across the winter season, with each concert offering a unique approach to the genre:
- November 2: Featuring guest vocalists Salka Gústafsdóttir and Jóhann Sigurðarson performing selected musical numbers 2. nóvember: Nýstirnið Salka Gústafsdóttir og þjóðargersemin Jóhann Sigurðarson koma sem gestasöngvarar og flytja sín uppáhalds söngleikjalög.
- February 7: A family-friendly daytime concert designed for audiences of all ages to participate and sing along 7. febrúar: Sprúðlandi fjölskyldutónleikar um miðjan dag þar sem börn á öllum aldri fá að syngja með.
- April 25: A closing performance featuring the Viðlag Musical Choir 25. apríl: Sprengju-tónleikar með Söngleikjakórnum Viðlag.

The Artists and Musicians Behind the Production
Performers Sigga Eyrún and Bjarni Snæbjörnsson have collaborated extensively since their initial project at Reykjavík Pride in 2008, bringing theatrical music to stages, galas, and celebrations. Their collective credits span major productions such as Les Misérables, Mary Poppins, The Cocomongers, and Jesus Christ Superstar.
The supporting ensemble features musical director Karl Olgeirsson on piano, keyboard, and accordion, alongside Svanhildur Lóa Bergsveinsdóttir on drums and percussion, and Andri Ólafsson on bass.
