The Sommerblumenschau at Hirschstetten Botanical Gardens features a large-scale seasonal planting across approximately 1,200 square meters. Visitors can experience a different perspective on plant varieties arranged by height and color, with a central green metal pavilion.
The Sommerblumenschau, or Summer Flower Show, at the Hirschstetten Botanical Gardens presents a significant seasonal planting across an area of approximately 1,200 square meters. This display offers a unique perspective on plant varieties, arranged by height and color to create a striking visual impact, distinct from more conventionally scaled garden presentations. At the heart of this floral arrangement stands a green metal pavilion.
Each year, typically in October or November, flower bulbs are planted in this area, resting through the winter. By spring, these bulbs emerge as the first blooms in the Hirschstetten Botanical Gardens. Around March or April, after the frost has passed, the emerging bulbs are complemented by violas (pansies).
As the spring flowers finish their bloom, the garden's experienced horticulturalists plant annual summer flowers in diverse and often experimental color combinations, designed to create a spectacular summer display.
