Curatorial context

The World of Tomorrow Will Have Been Another Present delves into the mumok Collection of classical modernism, moving beyond linear chronology to explore how artists, both historical and contemporary, conceptualize time in interwoven and circular ways. The exhibition presents artistic practices as a blueprint for networked thinking and open-ended temporalities. It is structured as five distinct exhibitions within one, linked by the artists' shared interest in temporality. Nikita Kadan, Barbara Kapusta, Frida Orupabo, Lisl Ponger, and Anita Witek were invited to select works from the classical modernism collection and engage in a dialogue with them. Their contributions include their own artworks, some newly created or re-contextualized for the exhibition. By situating their contemporary practices within art history, these artists participate in a discourse that connects current artistic questions with their historical counterparts, posing questions from the past to an imperfect future.

Admission and ticket notes

Admission to the exhibition is available with museum tickets. Visitors can select from various ticket types including regular, reduced (for students, seniors, and individuals under 19), and passes. Detailed information on ticket options and museum opening hours can be found on the museum's website.
