The history of the Didcot Railway Centre began in June 1932 when the Great Western Railway completed a new engine shed on the site. Several original structures, including the coaling stage and the 1932 engine shed, are designated as Grade II listed buildings.
A team from Alstom successfully completed a unique endurance challenge at Didcot Railway Centre, pulling the 25-tonne steam locomotive 'Trojan' to raise funds for Variety, the Children's Charity.
