This workshop, 'The Wonder Puppet Workshop', invites participants to rediscover the world through a child's eyes and transform discarded materials into unique totems and sculptures. Each creation receives a symbolic 'soul', turning it into a living being through creative resistance against mass-produced objects.
The "Wonder Puppet Workshop" challenges participants to see waste materials as resources for creativity, encouraging a childlike perspective. Over three hours, individuals will craft personalized totems and sculptures using a variety of found objects such as plastic remnants, cardboard, fabrics, and even makeup and natural elements. Each creation is imbued with a special 'soul'—a thought, a secret, or a dedication—making the object a living entity and an act of creative resistance against the anonymity of mass-produced items. The workshop, led by artist Susangela Saracino, explores how personal and collective experiences can be made visible through craft, memory, and ritualized gestures. Participants are encouraged to bring their own objects, colors, and fabric scraps to incorporate into their sculptures. The event emphasizes new rituals of exchange and a collective "puppet clinic" to give shape to new stories.
