Bijbels Museum (Amsterdam) Promotes Kunstlinie ART WEEK in Almere
The Bijbels Museum, a significant cultural institution in Amsterdam's historic Cromhouthuizen, is a proud partner in the upcoming Kunstlinie ART WEEK. This special event, held at the Kunstlinie venue in Almere, highlights the exhibition "RE:FWD: A reply to the present, a forward to us all" and offers a series of engaging activities starting Thursday, May 8th.
The central theme of the ART WEEK, "Hope You Create Together," invites visitors to explore hopeful visions for the future. The exhibition at Kunstlinie's Kunsthal features 21 artists who share their perspectives on the future through various forms, including visuals, sound, and movement. Almere, often recognized as a "New Town," serves as an apt backdrop for discussions on contemporary challenges such as housing, climate, and global conflicts, encouraging new ways of looking forward. For more details on the featured exhibition, visitors can find information on the RE:FWD exhibition page.
Engage with Artists and Curators
Visitors have unique opportunities to delve deeper into the exhibition and meet its creators. From May 8th to May 11th, between 3:00 PM and 4:00 PM, artists will be present to discuss their work and guide guests through the "RE:FWD" exhibition. Additionally, complimentary "Cura Tours" led by curators Caithlin, Mees, or Thierno will be available on May 8th, 9th, and 10th at 7:00 PM, providing insightful, concise introductions to the collection.
Special Events and Evening Programs
The Kunstlinie ART WEEK also includes special programming, culminating on Sunday, May 11th, which is Mother's Day. On this day, all mothers and caregivers visiting the exhibition will receive roses and enjoy complimentary coffee and treats.
Beyond the daytime exhibition, Kunstlinie offers a variety of evening performances to complement the ART WEEK experience:
- Friday, May 9th: "Love = Being Together," a youth program in Zaal X, celebrates the power of love through music and shared energy.
- Saturday, May 10th: Comedian Jandino presents his show "Therapie," offering a humorous take on the world's challenges, aligning with the exhibition's theme of finding light in difficult times.
- Sunday, May 11th, 3:00 PM: "Toekomstmuziek" features Maria du Toit (clarinet) and Vera Kooper (piano) performing works by composers like George Gershwin, Claude Debussy, and Darius Milhaud, evoking a sense of musical hope from the early 20th century.
