From 1975, the museum was housed in the upper floors of the Cromhouthuizen on the Herengracht in Amsterdam. Its former collection featured notable artifacts such as the 1477 Delft Bible, the first printed Bible in the Netherlands. In May 2018, the museum decided to dispose of its collection due to financial constraints and a strategic shift. The collection was transferred to other institutions in 2020, and the museum closed its physical location, transitioning to a nomadic model that now produces travelling exhibitions.
