Max Euwe Centrum Reopens in Amsterdam Following Relocation
The Max Euwe Centrum, Amsterdam's dedicated chess museum, has officially reopened its doors to visitors. Following a recent move to a new address, the center is now welcoming guests at its updated location. This reopening marks an exciting chapter for the cultural spot, known for celebrating the legacy of chess grandmaster Max Euwe and the broader world of chess.
The relocation, which occurred on December 31, 2023, involved moving the center just approximately 50 meters from its previous home at house number 30a to its new site at number 26. Despite the short distance, the transition required significant effort to prepare the new space for visitors.
Visiting the Renewed Chess Museum
After several months of dedicated work at the new premises, the Max Euwe Centrum is now fully operational. Visitors can anticipate a refreshed and more spacious environment, offering an enhanced experience as they explore the history of chess, learn about prominent players, and engage with interactive exhibits. The team of volunteers is ready to greet guests and share insights into the fascinating world of chess.
The museum maintains its regular operating hours, inviting visitors from Tuesday through Saturday. The doors are open between 12:00 PM and 4:00 PM.
