Exhibition summary

This special edition of the Ambachtenroute De Pijp takes place at the new Broedplaats De Lutmaak, focusing on new makers and creative entrepreneurs. The event features a historical lecture on the development of De Pijp, open atelier visits with demonstrations by local artisans, and a screening of a documentary about crafts in the area.

Curatorial context

Organized by the Ambachtenvereniging Made in De Pijp, this special edition of the Ambachtenroute is hosted at the new Broedplaats De Lutmaak, a temporary space for local makers and creatives. Instead of a route through the neighborhood, attendees will engage with new talents based within De Lutmaak. The afternoon includes an introduction to the Ambachtenvereniging, followed by a historical lecture by Anke Hofstede, associated with Museum Het Schip/De Dageraad. This lecture, 'Bedrijvigheid, Kunstnijverheid en Ambachten in De Pijp door de jaren heen,' explores the area's transformation from a polder landscape to a vibrant city district, detailing the rise of businesses, craft industries, and art education over the years, supported by historical imagery. Subsequently, several new makers from De Lutmaak will open their studios, sharing their craftsmanship and demonstrating their work. A short documentary about Ambachten Made in De Pijp, by filmmaker Simon Bunt, will also be screened. The event concludes with a social gathering with drinks.

Admission and ticket notes

Tickets cost €17.50 per person, which includes the lecture, documentary, coffee, tea, refreshments, and a post-event drink. Discounted tickets are available for Stadspashouders (green dot), youth, and students at €10.00. Partial program attendance may be possible. Ticket sales are managed through www.ticketkantoor.nl/shop/ambachtenroute. For inquiries unrelated to tickets, contact the provided email address.
