Curatorial context

From February 1 to March 2, 2025, Museum Het Schip, in partnership with Cultuurdorp Westergas, presents 'Green Paradise Amsterdam' at the Meterhuisje in Westerpark. This pop-up exhibition expands upon the themes of 'Het Paradijs van de Arbeider: Tuindorpen en Tuinsteden' (The Worker's Paradise: Garden Villages and Garden Cities), which is on view at Museum Het Schip until July 27, 2025. Three artists from Amsterdam-West—Dilruba Tayfun, Kim Blekkenhorst, and HOUT&MOS (Michiel de Jong)—have created new works inspired by the main exhibition, responding to the question: 'What does the green city mean to you?' The presentation examines learnings from the garden city movement, current thoughts on green spaces and community, and their manifestation in the city of the future. Visitors can engage with these contemporary artistic interpretations of urban greenery and community.

Admission and ticket notes

The exhibition is open Wednesday to Sunday from 12:00 PM to 5:00 PM and is free of charge. The address is Pazzanistraat 6, Amsterdam.
