Curatorial context

Museum Het Schip is hosting a special exhibition featuring the work of students from the Hout- en Meubileringscollege (HMC). These young talents, aged between 17 and 26, drew inspiration from the intricate details of the 'arbeiderspaleis' (workers' palace) during a guided tour of the museum and its model apartment. Subsequently, they translated these impressions into designs developed and crafted over several weeks. The exhibition is presented in two parts. The first part, running from November 17, 2022, to February 23, 2023, features unique side tables and furniture designed and made by second-year students of the Creative Craftsman program. The second part, starting January 31, 2023, showcases a vibrant collection of hats, bags, and shoes created by students from the Creative Craftsman - Leather and Textiles program, displayed within the iconic windows of the post office.

Admission and ticket notes

The exhibition is part of the regular guided tour of Museum Het Schip. Visitors can see the works during the tour as of their respective opening dates.
