Nxt Museum launches a 6-month residency program for emerging creatives focused on audiovisual culture and nightlife. The program supports talent development, professionalization, and knowledge exchange, culminating in a public showcase.
The Night Academy for Audiovisual Culture is a 6-month residency program initiated by Nxt Museum, designed for emerging creatives aiming to build careers in the nightlife industry. It focuses on talent development, professionalization, and knowledge exchange, utilizing the museum's exhibition space and advanced technical infrastructure as a classroom and laboratory. Four selected residents will receive tailored, hands-on guidance from a diverse network of mentors, including artists, technicians, and creative directors, to develop and present their artistic concepts at the forefront of contemporary audiovisual culture.
Led by curator and lead mentor Bogomir Doringer, the program explores nightlife as both an artistic expression and a social practice, bridging the gap between day and night cultural programming. Participants will delve into dance rituals, nightlife, club culture, and the sociopolitical power of music. The residency runs from June 15 to November 30, 2026, and includes collective sessions, mentorship, technical training, and behind-the-scenes visits. The program offers an artist fee of €2,500, a dedicated workspace, access to facilities, and networking opportunities. It is open to Amsterdam-based audiovisual makers interested in exploring the boundaries between day and night culture, with applications accepted from April 15 to May 13, 2026.
