The exhibition "Oman in Paintings: Culture, Nature and Wildlife" presents a collection of oil paintings and watercolors created by six Western artists: Araun Gordijn, Ahmad Haraji, Dick van Heerde, Renso Tamse, John Bawtree, and Bernd Pöppelmann. These artists have undertaken commissions for the Sultan of Oman and his family, capturing the essence of the country. The works are rendered in a naturalistic style and depict diverse Omani subjects, including its landscapes, historic forts, and the richness of its wildlife. The exhibition aims to showcase the splendor and abundance of Oman's culture and natural environment, with many of the featured pieces being newly produced for this event. Following its display in Amsterdam, the collection is scheduled to travel to Muscat, where it will be inaugurated by the Dutch ambassador to Oman. This exhibition also serves as a prelude to 'Oman at Home, Arabic Design – a Galant Lifestyle,' planned for later in 2014.
