Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo Hosts Inaugural Children's Friendship Day
The Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo is set to host a brand-new celebration focused on connection and community. For the first time, the park will welcome hundreds of young learners for a dedicated gathering celebrating companionship and social well-being.
Celebrating Friendship at Laugardalur
The upcoming event brings together roughly 700 children from 31 preschools across the capital area, including 24 local schools in Reykjavík. All participating institutions share a common background as designated friendship schools, actively utilizing programs designed to prevent bullying and strengthen interpersonal bonds.
Visitors and participants can expect a lively morning schedule at the grounds. The centerpiece of the gathering features Blær the bear, the official mascot of the initiative, who will lead young attendees in interactive songs and dances from the stage. The morning celebration will culminate with a special live performance by Páll Óskar, who will take the stage to perform alongside the children.
