Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo Hosts Litaland by Leikhópurinn Lotta
Visitors to the Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo can look forward to a special theatrical performance as Leikhópurinn Lotta presents Litaland. The show is scheduled for Monday, August 3, starting at 14:00.
Organizers advise attendees to arrive early. Because there is plenty to see and do along the grounds, the walk from the ticket office to the performance venue can take longer than expected.
Exploring the World of Colors
Litaland centers around the primary colors—yellow, red, and blue—represented by distinct groups known as the Gulverjar, Rauðingjar, and Bláungar. Each group establishes its own community within Litaland, initially keeping entirely to themselves with minimal interaction between the realms.
The dynamic shifts when the Bláungar face a crisis, as their world begins to disappear and leaves them without a home. Forced to seek refuge with the Gulverjar in Gulheimar, this vulnerable situation sets off an unpredictable and engaging chain of events. Meanwhile, in Rauðheimar, the Rauðingjar are busy preparing for the arrival of a new color to their group, though questions linger around the identity of the newcomer's parent.
Production and Creative Team
The production is directed by Sigsteinn Sigurbergsson and Þórunn Lárusdóttir, with a script written by Anna Bergljót Thorarensen. The cast features Andrea Ösp Karlsdóttir, Anna Bergljót Thorarensen, Rósa Ásgeirsdóttir, Stefán Benedikt Vilhelmsson, and Sumarliði V Snæland Ingimarsson.
Musical elements are composed by Baldur Ragnarsson, Björn Thorarensen, Rósa Ásgeirsdóttir, and Helgi Reynir Jónsson, with lyrics by Sævar Sigurgeirsson and Baldur Ragnarsson. Sound mixing is handled by Þórður Gunnar Þorvaldsson. The creative team also includes costume design by Aldís Gyða Davíðsdóttir, Ídris R. Berman, and Rósa Ásgeirsdóttir, alongside set design by Andrea Ösp Karlsdóttir and Sigsteinn Sigurbergsson.
