Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo Announces Pentecost Weekend Schedule and Activities
Visitors planning a trip to the Reykjavík Family Park and Zoo during the upcoming Pentecost weekend can expect a mix of seasonal entertainment, open rides, and newborn animals. Running from May 23 to May 25, the holiday schedule features special puppet performances alongside standard animal viewings and select attractions.
What to Expect During the Pentecost Holiday
The grounds will be open from 10:00 to 17:00 across the three-day weekend. On Saturday, May 23, the Puppet Theatre (Brúðubíllinn) will stage its production Afmælisveislan at 14:00 by the stage near the carousel.
Ride availability varies by day due to seasonal staffing changes. On Saturday, visitors can enjoy the carousel, Mjölnir (the hammer), and the drop tower. For Sunday, May 24, and Monday, May 25, operations expand to include all rides with the exception of the boats.
Seasonal Highlights and Local Visitor Experience
Beyond the rides and shows, the facility's resident animals remain a primary draw. Visitors are encouraged to stop by the sheep barn, where new lambs and kids are greeting guests.
