Historic NBM 20 Tram Returns to Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam
The Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam recently welcomed back a significant piece of its collection, the historic NBM 20 tram. This vintage vehicle completed its journey back to the heritage tram line on Saturday, May 30th, enriching the experience for those interested in Amsterdam's public transport history.
A Significant Return for Amsterdam's Tram History
The NBM 20 tram had been on loan to the Nederlands Openluchtmuseum in Arnhem for a period. Its return marks a notable event for the Electrische Museumtramlijn, which is dedicated to preserving and operating historic trams.
The process of bringing the tram back to its home involved careful logistics. Upon its arrival in Amsterdam, the NBM 20 was initially unloaded at the GVB Havenstraat depot. From this point, it was skillfully transferred via the existing rail connection to the Electrische Museumtramlijn's dedicated depot, located on Jachthavenweg.
This return means visitors to the museum tram line can once again anticipate the possibility of seeing or even riding this historic tram, offering a direct connection to the city's rich past in public transportation.
