Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam Completes HTM 816 Tram Repairs
The Electrische Museumtramlijn Amsterdam has announced the completion of essential repair work on its historic HTM 816 tram, ensuring the vehicle can safely welcome visitors once again. This maintenance highlights the museum's dedication to preserving its fleet and providing secure journeys for those exploring Amsterdam's public transport history.
Tram 816 was temporarily taken out of service because several of its passenger step platforms had developed rust, which posed a safety concern. The tram was subsequently moved to the Lekstraat depot for the necessary repairs. New step platforms were manufactured between March and April and then fitted to the tram on May 9. With these crucial repairs finalized, the HTM 816 is expected to return to passenger service in the near future.
