Curatorial context

Dwalen is a musical adventure that emerged from the first steps of a new musical world, born from encounters in Almere. Musicians Linnet and Jolle gathered stories, sounds, and songs from residents, children, parents, and grandparents, which formed the inspiration for this performance. The result is a landscape of sounds featuring singing strings, clapping hands, rhythms that hop through the space, and a tabla that almost seems to 'speak'. Fantastical language mixes with voices captured in Almere's neighborhoods, creating something new and recognizable. This exhibition is a journey of discovery about listening, curiosity, and the small moments when people truly meet. It's a playground where imagination and reality merge, and where every sound can reveal something. Dwalen is a musical adventure that continues to grow with everyone who allows themselves to be carried along. The performance on Saturday, April 4th, is a special edition featuring musicians the creators met in the city.
