The exhibition 'Look up, look up!' invites visitors to pause their busy lives and contemplate the essential elements of existence, focusing on the sun as the source of life. It encourages a shift in perspective from daily worries to a sense of wonder about the universe and our place within it.
The exhibition 'Look up, look up!' is a call to action, urging visitors to direct their gaze upward and appreciate the fundamental power of the sun as the source of all life. In our fast-paced, often downward-focused existence, dominated by deadlines and trivial matters, we can lose sight of what truly matters. This exhibition encourages reflection on the sun's constant radiance, its indispensable role in sustaining life on Earth, and prompts questions about the origins and destinations of life itself. By stepping away from everyday concerns, visitors are invited to explore the vastness of the universe and the profound significance of light.
This exhibition was a unique project where young students of religious studies and cultural heritage, along with a young designer, were given the opportunity to curate their own exhibition. From conceptualization to execution, including exhibition design, lighting, and promotional materials, these emerging talents were given creative freedom. The exhibition 'Look up, look up!' was specifically created by cultural heritage student Emmelie Dekker and designer Fanny Olsthoorn. The foundation of the exhibition is the museum's collection of biblical prints, which have been acquired over many years from various sources.
