The Open Call RE:FWD seeks to plant seeds for a hopeful future by engaging artists under 35 who are directly impacted by and responding to contemporary global crises. Curated by Caithlin Courtney Chong, Thierno Deme, and Mees Elias van Zanten, the exhibition encourages participants to explore themes such as collectivism, interconnectedness, societal change, hope, alternative realities, and grief. The project aims to foster a dialogue with young artists on how they envision hope and transformation, acknowledging the weight of current realities on their present and future. The exhibition will be presented across two venues: Kunstlinie in Almere from February 7 to July 6, 2025, and NDSM FUSE in Amsterdam from July 18 to August 31, 2025. Artists are invited to submit existing, adapted, or new work, with a focus on artists residing in the Netherlands. The submission process requires a description of the work, artist CV, visual representations, and cost estimations for new or adapted pieces.
