The puzzle, designed by striptekenaar (comic artist) Danker Jan Oreel, showcases scenes from the successful comic book 'Gelderland Het Verloren Hertogdom', depicting elements such as Romans, Vikings, soldiers from the Battle of Arnhem, churches, castles, and the Veluwe nature.
The competition takes place on Sunday, May 3rd, and is part of the Gelderse feestdag, celebrating the anniversary of the Gelderland Parliament, which was established on May 3rd, 1418. Seventeen teams, with a maximum of four members each, will compete to finish the puzzle within two hours. Participation costs twenty euros per team, and teams get to keep the puzzle afterward. The event is an initiative of the Erfgoedcentrum Zutphen and the Walburgiskerk foundation.
