Curatorial context

The exhibition 'Reply:Forward – A Reply to the Present, A Forward to Us All' is a coproduction by Bijbels Museum, Kunstlinie, and NDSM FUSE, presenting the work of 21 young artists. After its initial run in Almere, the exhibition opens at NDSM FUSE in Amsterdam on July 18th, 2025, continuing the exploration of how to imagine and build a hopeful future. Curated by Caithlin Chong, Mees van Zanten, and Thierno Deme, all under 35, the exhibition showcases artists whose work delves into themes of transformation, resilience, and the potential for alternative futures. The collection of works includes immersive installations, poetic interventions, and speculative gestures, offering a multifaceted perspective on hope, fears, dreams, and survival strategies. The exhibition emphasizes that change is a necessary and collective process. Visitors are invited to examine their own positions within existing systems and to contemplate alternatives. This space for discovery aims to foster dialogue and reflection on how to co-create a hopeful future, supported by a summer-long public program of performances, guided tours, and film screenings. The project is made possible by a range of foundations and cultural funds.
