Zaal X RE:FWD is a special creative event and part of the larger RE:FWD exhibition, which explores themes of hope and possible futures by drawing on the past. This collaborative evening offers a space for spoken word, poetry, and creative writing, guided by spoken word artist Jörgen Gario, encouraging participants to reflect and express themselves through art and words.
Zaal X RE:FWD is a unique event designed as a creative collaboration between Zaal X and RE:FWD, offering a platform for self-expression, connection, and inspiration. Held on Friday, June 6th, from 7 PM to 9 PM at Kunstlinie Almere, this event invites individuals interested in spoken word, poetry, and creative writing to join an evening of reflection and imagination. The event is directly linked to the _RE:FWD_ exhibition, which showcases the work of 21 artists exploring themes of hope and possible futures by looking into the past for strength and resilience.
Guided by renowned spoken word artist Jörgen Gario, attendees will experience a walkthrough of the _RE:FWD_ exhibition to draw creative inspiration. Participants will then engage in a writing session, with opportunities for those inspired to share their work in a welcoming environment. The evening also features an open mic moment and concludes with a relaxed 'borrel' (drinks). The _RE:FWD_ exhibition itself, curated by Caithlin Chong, Mees van Zanten, and Thierno Deme, presents hopeful future perspectives from young artists, on show until July 6, 2025, and invites a dialogue on how art can help imagine a realistic yet hopeful future.
