The exhibition 'RE:FWD: A reply to the present, a forward to us all' brings together the hopeful future perspectives of 21 young artists, questioning how hope can be envisioned in a fractured world and how art can facilitate realistic yet hopeful futures. Through installations, soundscapes, paintings, textile art, and sculptures, these artists explore and celebrate both small and large hopes. They critically examine the past and present while speculating on potential futures. Guided by the principle that 'without awareness, no foundation is formed, and in a castle in the air, no one can live,' the artists investigate what it means to shape a future grounded in grief, resilience, and possibility. The exhibition prompts visitors to reconsider hope not as an abstract concept, but as an active, participatory process. It suggests that if individuals are responsible for their own hope, then actively contributing to the creation of a hopeful future is, in essence, contributing to ourselves.
