Photographer Ajiri Ogbovoh's exhibition 'Reclaiming Sexy' investigates the relationship between queer women, their bodies, desire, and visibility. The project's core idea is that sensuality is a choice, not a norm, and the featured portraits highlight this self-definition. Through collaboration with queer women, Ogbovoh creates images that coexist with both vulnerability and strength, focusing on reclaiming the body, desire, and the gaze. This exhibition is a product of the SALTY Academy, a 1.5-year talent development program for self-taught artists in and around Almere. Ajiri Ogbovoh, a Dutch-Nigerian photographer from Almere, uses her work to challenge inequality, prejudice, and societal expectations by celebrating authenticity and diversity. Her aim is to inspire viewers to embrace themselves and others without judgment.
This exhibition is free to visit and does not require ticket reservation. Opening hours are Thursday to Saturday from 1:00 PM to 8:30 PM and Sunday from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
