This exhibition, presented by Myvillages as part of 'A-Z. The Marzona Collection' at Hamburger Bahnhof, investigates the conceptual and socio-political aspects of how artists shape their work and exhibitions. It engages visitors in exploring principles of form-finding through interactive elements.
Presented at Hamburger Bahnhof, Berlin, as part of the 'A-Z. The Marzona Collection' exhibition, 'Formen des Festlegens / Forms of Lending Shape' is a contribution by Myvillages that delves into the core principles of Conceptual Art. The exhibition examines the 'forms of lending shape' involved in art and exhibitions, questioning how decisions about final form are made, by whom, and who is involved in the process. It aims to discover, lay down, test, and reject principles of form-finding through active collaboration with museum visitors and invited guests. The space facilitates a spatial, physical, and intellectual experience of these concepts, inviting visitors to engage in public exercises of 'lending shape' through arranging visual material, describing artistic processes, or choosing not to participate. Myvillages was specifically invited to create an interactive space that transparently, polyphonically, critically, and playfully investigates artistic production methods and characteristic techniques of Conceptual Art.
