An event dedicated to raising awareness and funds for the genocide in Darfur, Sudan. It features a panel discussion with academics and activists, personal testimonies, cultural performances including music and food, and a live auction, aiming to mobilize solidarity and support for those affected by violence and lacking basic necessities.
In response to the ongoing genocide in Darfur, Sudan, and the perceived lack of attention from the international community and legacy media, The Black Archives is hosting an event titled 'Sudan: The silenced Genocide - A call to witness and Act'. This event aims to foster solidarity and raise crucial funds for those suffering from violence and lacking essential resources. The program includes a panel discussion with academics, activists, and individuals directly impacted by the genocide, offering their testimonies. Complementing the serious discourse, the event will also celebrate Sudanese culture through food and music, and will feature a live auction to further support fundraising efforts. The funds raised will be directed to the Sudan Solidarity Collective, Hope and Heaven for Refugees, and Sadagaat, organizations providing critical aid such as food, water, medical care, and shelter to families in Darfur. The initiative was developed by Idris, Yara, Solafa, Marie, and Qali, demonstrating a community-driven effort to shed light on the crisis and support those affected.
