The podcast series 'Verhalen van Hoop' offers intimate audio narratives from eight individuals, aged 18 to 30, who reflect on challenging life experiences and how they found hope and inspiration, often by connecting their journeys to specific Bible stories. These stories are universal and relatable, emphasizing themes of resilience, courage, and the importance of core values. This project originated from the exhibition 'Dit is mijn verhaal' (This is my story), which featured portraits of young people recounting pivotal life moments. Due to the lockdown in spring 2021, the Bijbels Museum adapted this content into an outdoor poster exhibition. Eight life-size portraits, each with a QR code linking to the corresponding podcast, were displayed in five student cities across the Netherlands. The series also includes contributions from other young people who shared their stories via voice messages, with the most inspiring receiving a photoshoot by Cigdem Yuksel.
