New Art and Fashion Exhibitions Redefining the Bruges Cultural Scene
Bruges is preparing for a major shift in its artistic landscape. "High Tide": Exploring Water through Art and Fashion in Bruges
Starting on October 30, 2026, and running through March 14, 2027, the landmark exhibition High Tide will take over BRUSK. Curated by fashion specialist Karen Van Godtsenhoven, the exhibition marks the first time Musea Brugge has integrated fashion and fine art on such a grand scale.
The exhibition delves into the profound relationship between humanity and the sea—a fitting theme for Bruges, a city historically shaped by the tides of the North Sea. As the nearby Groeningemuseum prepares for planned renovations, its most famous historic masterpieces will temporarily relocate. From March 12, 2027, until June 30, 2031 (with the end date subject to change), BRUSK will host The Groeninge Collection exhibition.
This four-year temporary showcase presents an opportunity to experience these classic works outside their traditional setting. The exhibition encourages a fresh perspective on these world-renowned artworks, prompting both new visitors and longtime art lovers to re-examine what these historic pieces mean in a modern context.
Looking Ahead to the Bruges Triennial 2027
Bruges will also celebrate the fifth edition of its international arts and architecture festival from April 24 to September 5, 2027. Under the theme After Birth – Structures of Togetherness, the Bruges Triennial 2027 will examine the social structures and shared moments that unite living beings.
As part of the festival, BRUSK will feature a dedicated installation that directly connects with other temporary artworks scattered throughout the historic center of Bruges, encouraging community engagement, collaboration, and public dialogue.
