Fotógrafos: The Will to Tell – Spanish Documentary Photography at Espacio Fundación Telefónica

This exhibition pays tribute to Spanish documentary photography and the professionals who have captured the country's history over the past four decades. Curated by photographer Enrique Cano, it showcases portraits of 54 influential photojournalists who documented crucial social, cultural, and political events in Spain.

Under the theme of "generational vision," "Fotógrafos. La voluntad de contar" (Photographers. The will to tell) by Enrique Cano serves as a homage to Spanish documentary photography and its practitioners. The exhibition presents portraits of 54 important photojournalists, some still active and others retired, who have significantly contributed to documenting Spain's history from the second half of the 20th century to the present. These photographers captured pivotal moments, including socio-political events such as the Spanish Transition, the 23-F coup attempt, and aspects of Spanish culture like the 'movida madrileña,' football triumphs, and Barcelona's social landscape. The exhibition provides a visual narrative of Spain's past, present, and future through the lens of these influential figures, many of whom are recipients of prestigious awards like the National Photography Award and World Press Photo.

The exhibition was open from October 30, 2012, to January 30, 2013, in the hall of the Auditorium on the second floor of Espacio Fundación Telefónica. Specific ticketing information for this past exhibition is not provided on this page, but general museum visit details would apply.
