The exhibition 'Litospacios-Monumentos' showcased the sculptural work of Juan Moral, featuring 15 pieces. It explored his artistic journey from two-dimensional stone compositions to three-dimensional sculptures and urban monuments.
The Museo Tiflológico presented 'Litospacios-Monumentos', a solo exhibition dedicated to the sculptural work of Juan Moral. The collection comprised 15 pieces, offering a comprehensive look at his artistic evolution. Juan Moral, born in Torredelcampo, Jaén in 1941, developed a multifaceted artistic career that transitioned from drawing and painting to abstraction, and from figurative to abstract styles. His sculptural work initially focused on organic forms, utilizing stones and minerals to create 'litospacios' – two-dimensional compositions on metallic supports, which later expanded into integrated architectural murals.
His sculptures are characterized by curved and tensioned planes, often clad in stone, creating a dynamic interplay of tension and equilibrium. He later explored works originating from geometric forms to suggest organic shapes. Moral also created series such as 'Estelas Íberas', which involved iron sculptures with geometric volumes, hollowed and etched with Iberian alphabet graphics, inviting viewers to look inside. Notable works include 'Monumento al Pescador "El Copo"' in Algeciras, 'Monumento a los pueblos Iberoamericanos' in Coslada, 'Torre del Saber' at the University of Jaén, and 'A la Historia de Torrelodones'. Moral has exhibited extensively throughout Spain and internationally, with over 50 exhibitions to his name.
