A completely rebooted version of The Complete Works of William Shakespeare (abridged) is scheduled to take over the Main House stage at York Theatre Royal for a limited run next month, playing from July 7 to July 11.
What to Expect From This Fast-Paced Comedy
Originally birthed in the United States by the Reduced Shakespeare Company before enjoying a nine-year tenure in London's West End, this global comedy hit condenses all 37 of the legendary playwright's works into a single, high-energy performance. The 2026 touring cast features four performers: Efé Agwele, Woogie Jung, Tom Pavey, and Kiran Raywilliams.
The production is a collaborative effort between The Theatre Chipping Norton and Selladoor Worldwide, working alongside the original creators and founding members of the Reduced Shakespeare Company. Written by Adam Long, Daniel Singer, and Jess Winfield, with direction by Adam Long, the staging features design contributions from Liz Cooke (sets and costumes), Alexandra Stafford (lighting), and Amy Lawrence (movement direction).
