The Enormous Crocodile The Musical Arrives at York Theatre Royal
Visitors heading to York Theatre Royal this summer can look forward to a vibrant family production as The Enormous Crocodile The Musical takes to the Main House stage from 25 to 28 June 2026.
Based on the popular story by Roald Dahl, the stage adaptation follows the title character on a mischievous journey through the jungle, where other animals must summon their courage to thwart his schemes.

The production features original music by Ahmed Abdullahi Gallab, a script and lyrics by Suhayla El-Bushra, and additional music and lyrics by Tom Brady. Developed and directed by Emily Lim, the show brings the jungle to life with puppetry designed by Toby Olié and set and costume design by Fly Davis.
The cast features Chelsea Da Silva, Precious Abimbola, Jordan Eskeisa, Ciara Hudson, Marienella Phillips, and René Francalanza. The production was originally co-produced by the Roald Dahl Story Company, Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre, and Leeds Playhouse.
