Experience La habitación de los conjuros: A Transformative Literary Event with Alana S. Portero and Sara Torres

An event titled 'La habitación de los conjuros' (The Room of Incantations) featured writers Alana S. Portero and Sara Torres. The gathering explored themes of dance, song, prophecy, augury, goddesses, queens, banquets, and prayers, inviting attendees into a space for transformative poetry.

This event, 'La habitación de los conjuros,' welcomed two prominent contemporary literary voices, writers Alana S. Portero and Sara Torres. The gathering was conceived as a space where dances, songs, prophecies, auguries, goddesses, queens, banquets, and prayers reside, creating an atmosphere for conjuring together the transformative power of poetry. Through performative readings from their respective poetry collections, 'Conjuros y Cantos' and 'La habitación de las ahogadas,' the poets invoked diverse presences, including those of Adrienne Rich, Monique Wittig, Venus, Hilda Doolitle, María Sánchez, and Sappho. The event was presented as a room filled with beauty, desires, impulses, poetry, and freedom, aiming to foster a ritualistic conjuring of these elements.

This event has passed and a recording is available in the media library. Accessibility measures including an induction loop, LSE, and sound amplification were provided.
