Real(ismos): Exploring New Figurative Art and Avant-garde Spanish Art from 1918 to 1936

The exhibition ‘Real(ismos). Nuevas figuraciones en el arte español entre 1918 y 1936’ offers a comprehensive look at the artistic panorama of the first Spanish avant-garde during the 1920s and 1930s. Presented at the Museo Carmen Thyssen Málaga, the exhibition highlights the evolution of new figurative styles in Spanish art during this dynamic period. Fundación Telefónica actively participated in this exploration by facilitating the loan of three significant pieces from its collection. These works represent two pivotal figures of artistic vanguardism: Pablo Picasso and Antoni Arissa. The featured artworks include Picasso's ‘Les lutteur’ from 1921, and two untitled pieces by Antoni Arissa from 1922-1928, along with ‘Ganarás el pan’ also by Arissa from the same period.
