Spanning from telegrams to state-of-the-art mobile phones, the 50 selected pieces illustrate a journey through time, presenting the birth and progress of telecommunications up to the present day. The exhibition emphasizes the continuous quest for improvements and progress in communication technologies and reveals the profound transformations that long-distance communications have engendered in society. Displayed chronologically across seven themed sections, the exhibition is enhanced by audiovisual content, touchscreens with supplementary information, photos, games, and social history albums. It begins with a conceptual structure of screens alluding to communication and networks, and concludes with a large touchscreen illustrating the past, present, and future of telecommunications, featuring interviews and diverse archival material.
Admission and ticket notes
The exhibition is located on the 2nd floor of Espacio Fundación Telefónica. General museum admission applies. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 20:00, and Saturday, Sunday, and holidays from 11:00 to 20:00. Please note that this exhibition is currently closed for renovations.
