The exhibition 'We Robots' offers a fascinating journey through the milestones in the history of robotics, tracing its origins from ancient times to the present day. It delves into the challenges humanity faces with the unstoppable development of these machines and highlights the possibilities they offer for transforming the future, emphasizing controlled integration to serve people's needs.
The exhibition features a selection of around fifty robots, accompanied by audiovisual elements, models, and graphics. Visitors can explore pieces like a human-scale reconstruction of Leonardo da Vinci's 'Mechanical Knight,' original automatons from the late 19th century, emblematic robotic characters from science fiction, and the latest humanoid robots. It is organized into five themes: 'Ancestors,' showcasing early concepts and automatons like Gustave Vichy's 'The Wizard'; 'Get to know us,' defining robots and presenting modern examples like 'HR-1' and the 3D-printable 'InMoov'; 'Emotions,' examining human-robot empathy with comics, toys, and video installations by Professor Hiroshi Ishiguro; 'Imagine,' exploring the dialogue between science and fiction through replicas of R2-D2 and the T-800; and 'At your service,' highlighting industrial and service robots like 'Yume Maru' and 'PackBot 510'.
Admission and ticket notes
The exhibition is located on the third floor of Espacio Fundación Telefónica. Opening hours are Monday to Thursday and Friday from 10:00 to 20:00, and Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from 11:00 to 20:00. Visitors can also find an audioguide for the exhibition.
