Didcot Railway Centre Celebrates Multiple Wins at Heritage Railway Association Awards

The Heritage Railway Association acknowledged the institution with two primary honors alongside a runner-up placement, with accolades presented by railway enthusiast and television presenter Tim Dunn.
The first accolade recognized six decades of dedication to gathering and preserving an extensive array of historical artifacts. The collection—spanning historic locomotives, rolling stock, smaller relics, and photographic archives—is regarded as the largest assemblage of items dedicated to a single railway company anywhere in the world. Public Voted Success for Pendennis Castle
A second major highlight of the ceremony was the public-voted Steam Railway Magazine Award, determined through a two-week public vote. This honor celebrated the successful repatriation and return to working order of the iconic Castle Class locomotive, No. 4079 Pendennis Castle. Project manager Drew Fermor expressed gratitude to the public for their support in securing the accolade.
Additionally, the organization earned a runner-up position in the Large Groups category for its milestone 60th-anniversary celebrations held previously.
