Director’s Cuts Film Series Launches at Oxford's Ultimate Picture Palace
The Ultimate Picture Palace has introduced a brand-new regular programming strand entitled Director’s Cuts. The initiative invites acclaimed filmmakers to take over the screen, curating a unique selection of their own creations alongside influential motion pictures that have shaped their artistic perspectives.
For the inaugural edition running through May, acclaimed director Peter Strickland has curated an intuitive line-up bridging contemporary works and historical cinema.
Peter Strickland Curates Inaugural May Screenings in Oxford
The launch event features a special screening of Strickland's 2014 feature The Duke of Burgundy on Saturday 16th May, accompanied by an exclusive post-screening Q&A with the filmmaker in attendance.
Running from Saturday 9th to Thursday 28th May, the curated programme spans several decades and cinematic styles:
- The Love Witch (Directed by Anna Biller) – Screenings on Saturday 9th and Monday 11th May (Book tickets).
- Pillion (Directed by Harry Lighton) – Screening on Saturday 16th May (Book tickets).
