Curatorial context
The Czech Food Gallery, located at NZM Ostrava, presents a dynamic exhibition that changes quarterly to feature a diverse array of Czech food and agricultural products. The primary aim is to support and showcase Czech producers, with a special emphasis on those who have earned quality marks such as Klasa, Regionální potravina, Chráněné zeměpisné označení, Vína z Moravy, vína z Čech, and those associated with the Asociace regionálních značek. The exhibition also includes traditional products that may not carry a formal quality mark. Approximately one-third of the exhibited products originate from the Moravian-Silesian Region, while the remainder are sourced from other parts of the Czech Republic.
The exhibition is structured to display around 30 products, categorized into ten distinct sections marked with pictograms. These exhibits represent a range of producers, from large-scale industrial operations to small family businesses and farms committed to traditional handicraft methods. The common thread uniting these diverse products is a commitment to tradition and a dedication to presenting only the finest offerings from Czech agriculture and food production.
