On March 25th, the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw hosted a special event to celebrate the premiere of a postcard commemorating the 100th anniversary of golf in Poland. Issued by Poczta Polska S.A. at the initiative of the Polish Women's Golf Association, the postcard is part of the 'History of Polish Sports Organizations' series. The design features Count Alfred Potocki, a historical golfer and ambassador of Polish golf in the interwar period, and Maria Żrodowska, representing the modern generation of Polish golfers. The stamp itself includes a fragment of a 1922 article from Przegląd Sportowy, announcing the formation of the first Polish golf club. The postcard, measuring 148 x 105 mm, was printed using offset technology and released in a limited edition of 5,000 copies.
The event was co-hosted by Elżbieta Panas, President of the Polish Women's Golf Association, and Sławomir Majcher, Director of the Museum of Sport and Tourism. Guest of honor Olena Rudik, Vice President of the Ukrainian Golf Federation, also attended, highlighting solidarity and cooperation. Andrzej Person, Honorary President of the Polish Golf Association, provided historical context, and Elżbieta Grendecka, director of the Museum of Golf History in Poland, presented the historical development of golf in Poland, including early mentions of the sport in the early 20th century and the establishment of various interwar golf clubs.
