Warsaw Urban Game: Following the Museum of Sport and Tourism's History through City Landmarks

An urban game organized by the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw to celebrate its 65th anniversary. The event, aimed at children and youth, involved practical and theoretical activities across various locations connected to the history of Poland's oldest sports museum. Participants engaged in historical and sporting challenges at former and current museum sites.

To commemorate its 65th anniversary, the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw, in collaboration with Warszawskie Gry Miejskie, organized an urban game titled 'Following the Museum of Sport and Tourism: Many Places - One Story.' This event was designed for children and youth, offering a blend of practical and theoretical activities that explored locations significant to the history of Poland's oldest sports museum. The game commenced at the museum's former site at ul. Rozbrat and continued to the Skra stadium at ul. Wawelska, which served as the museum's headquarters from 1966. Here, participants engaged in sports competitions such as running, shot put, and juggling. The journey then proceeded to PGE Narodowy, a location where a new museum facility is planned. At this site, attendees participated in a 'I Am a Fan' workshop focused on cultural cheering and toured the stadium, including areas typically inaccessible to the public. The game concluded at the Olympic Centre, the current home of the Museum of Sport and Tourism. In this final location, participants viewed the permanent exhibition 'The History of Polish Sport and Olympism,' completed a crossword puzzle about the museum's history, and received a gift.
