Curatorial context

The exhibition "Gwiazdy Polskiego Automobilizmu" (Stars of Polish Motorsport) was a joint project by the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw and Automobilklub Polski, presented during the jubilee gala celebrating the 110th anniversary of the Automobilklub. The display highlighted the careers of prominent Polish "wheel masters," including Sobiesław Zasada, a three-time European Rally Champion and three-time world vice-champion; Longin Bielak, a racing driver with 21 Polish Championship titles; and contemporary stars like Kajetan Kajetanowicz, a three-time European Rally Champion and four-time Polish Champion, and Robert Kubica, a Formula 1 driver. Attendees at the opening also had the opportunity to see historical pennants, badges, and programs from rallies held before World War II. During the official opening, Aleksandra Czechowicz – Woźniak, Deputy Director of the Museum of Sport and Tourism, and exhibition commissioner Piotr Walewski presented the 65th anniversary medals of the Museum to athletes and officials. Among the honored individuals were Longin Bielak, Sobiesław Zasada, Romuald Chałas, and Wojciech Morawski. The exhibition was open for visitors until December 20, 2019, at the Automobilklub's headquarters.
