The exhibition "Igrzyska za drutami" (Games behind bars) marks the 70th anniversary of the sports competitions known as "Rok Olimpijski w IIC" (Olympic Year in IIC), which took place in the IIC Woldenberg prisoner-of-war camp. This is the third presentation of the exhibition, following its showings at the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw and the Museum of Independence. Its display within the Polish Parliament is a historic first for an exhibition prepared by the Museum of Sport and Tourism.
The exhibition highlights a globally unique collection of memorabilia related to sports in prisoner-of-war camps, which is owned by the Museum of Sport and Tourism. The event was held under the honorary patronage of the Marshal of the Sejm of the Republic of Poland, Radosław Sikorski. The official opening was attended by numerous dignitaries, including the Marshal of the Sejm, the Director of the Museum, ministers, parliamentary representatives, local government officials, and representatives from collaborating institutions such as the Museum of Woldenbergers in Dobiegniewo, the Central Museum of Prisoners of War in Łambinowice-Opole, and the Władysław Orkan Foundation. The exhibition also utilizes photographs from the National Digital Archive and private collections.
