The exhibition "My Japan. Okinawa - the Cradle of Karate" presents photographic works by Paweł Ciastka, captured during his journeys to Japan from 2002 to 2017. The collection goes beyond martial arts, incorporating street photography and landscape imagery, offering a multifaceted view of the country. The exhibition is dedicated to the memory of Radzisław Żebrowski, who initiated and conceived the exhibition. Paweł Ciastka, a martial arts practitioner with a 5th dan in Karate Shorin-Ryu since 1988, shares his passion for karate, emphasizing its individual nature and the importance of personal dedication for both physical and mental development. Despite being born without a forearm, Ciastka found his passion for martial arts highly motivating, pushing him to train more intensely and discover new capabilities. His expertise as an instructor allows him to teach children, youth, and adults, promoting Eastern Martial Arts. His travels also resulted in photographic documentation of the vibrant streets of Okinawa and Tokyo, as well as the natural beauty found in Japan's less populated areas, such as tranquil beaches and untouched landscapes.
