During the 15th Olympic Picnic, organized by the Polish Olympic Committee, the Museum of Sport and Tourism in Warsaw hosted an engaging zone dedicated to old Polish games and activities. Visitors had the opportunity to participate in games such as 'pierścieniówka,' a ring toss game similar to volleyball originating from lakeside fishermen's traditions, and 'kapela,' a folk sport historically played by shepherds involving knocking down a cone of stones. The event also featured demonstrations of 'palcat,' an old Polish fencing style, and horseshoe throwing contests. Beyond traditional sports, the museum organized creative workshops where participants could learn to make old-fashioned toys, like paper fortune tellers and button spinners. A highlight was the "room races" on bottle caps, which participants had to craft themselves. For the youngest visitors, a "young rider's corner" was set up with a horse model, introducing them to the basics of saddling and driving. Active participants received special prizes, contributing to a festive and interactive atmosphere that celebrated both sport and cultural heritage.
