Seminar on Creating Large-Scale Educational Events for Mass Audiences in Museums: Best Practices

This seminar, held on November 19, 2019, addressed the creation of large-scale educational events for mass audiences in museums. It explored best practices for engaging a broad public while maintaining institutional mission and educational value, and also covered safety considerations.

The seminar "Large-scale events – educational events? How to create events for a mass audience in a museum – good practices" was organized by the Museum of Sport and Tourism, in collaboration with the Fryderyk Chopin Museum and the Forum of Museum Educators. Held on November 19, 2019, at the Fryderyk Chopin Museum in Żelazowa Wola, the event focused on the increasing trend of museums using large-scale educational events to connect with the public. It delved into the potential for such events to have educational value, how to align them with a cultural institution's mission, and the benefits and risks involved. Discussions also covered practical aspects of organizing these events, including safety measures. The organizers planned to publish post-conference materials in an electronic guide titled "Education in museums – user manual."

Participation in the seminar required a fee of 50 PLN. Registration was accepted until October 30, 2019, via the website of the Fryderyk Chopin National Institute.
