Jak powraca las (How the Forest Returns) is a narrative centered around an extraordinary, ongoing 60-year experiment in the Kampinos Forest, where a forest biosphere has been successfully recreated on a remarkable scale. In an era marked by climate crisis, such endeavors offer critical insights into the possibilities of radical ecological transformation, making them particularly relevant for artistic exploration. Sayam Ghosh, who grew up in Kolkata and has resided in Poland for eight years, selected Warsaw and its surroundings as the subject of his photographic work. His fascination with the Kampinos Forest led him to dedicate a project to it, culminating in the exhibition presented here. This exhibition marks the inauguration of Galeria Rynek 30, a new space dedicated to emerging artists addressing contemporary and vital urban themes. The exhibition is the result of in-depth research and close collaboration between Sayam Ghosh and scientists from the Kampinos National Park. The curator of the exhibition is Jan Brykczyński from the Sputnik Photos collective.
